What you can do:
Remind friends and family to turn their ballot over to vote for judges
Encourage attorneys you know and respect to apply for the judiciary and write letters on their behalf.
Do your research - seek out reputable judicial evaluation resources like those from the Iowa State Bar Association
Support Iowa’s merit system, the most effective way to ensure fair and impartial courts
Alison Hoeman, Founder & Director, Des Moines Refugee Support, focused on critical issues facing immigrants in Iowa and tangible ways to help.
Actions you can take:
Attend the DMRS annual "A Longer Table" fundraiser on April 30th
State representative and candidate for Congress in the 2nd district, Lindsay James, will share her focus to lower costs for Iowans, supporting working parents, and strengthening public schools.
What you can do:
Have a plan to vote on election day and take someone with you.
Pay attention, get involved and support races even if you don’t live in the district - every vote in Congress counts.
Send postcards to people you know in Iowa’s 2nd District, encouraging them to vote or host a casual house party to meet the candidate.
This race will be close - support Lindsay’s efforts to flip Iowa’s 2nd District blue
